Tafsir of Imam Ibn Kathir

Ibn Kathir points out: “By the mercy of Allah the people of the Heights will remain there for a certain time, and then Allah will admit them into Paradise by virtue of His all-embracing mercy.”

Tafsir al-Baghawi

“And when their eyes are turned toward the inhabitants of the Fire, they will say: ‘Our Lord! Do not place us together with the people who are wrongdoers!’…” That is, together with the disbelievers in Hell.
