Angels’ Supplication for the Believers

“Our Lord! You have encompassed all things in mercy and knowledge. So forgive those who have repented and followed Your path, and protect them from the punishment of the Hellfire. Our Lord! Admit them into the Gardens of Eden which You have promised them, together with whoever was righteous among their fathers, their spouses, and their offspring. Indeed, You are the Almighty, the All-Wise. And protect them from evil deeds. And whoever You protect from evil deeds on that Day, You have surely granted him mercy. And that is the great attainment.”
Form: the intercession of the highest angels (حملة العرش) for the believers on earth, using the petitions “ighfir” (اغفر), “qihim” (قهم) and “adkhilhum” (أدخلهم).
Tafsir of Sheikh Abd al-Rahman al-Saadi
Sheikh as-Saadi writes: “What a great mercy for the believers! The noblest of created beings — the angels who bear the Throne of the Most High — ceaselessly pray for the repentant Muslims, asking Paradise for them and protection from the Fire.”
Tafsir of Imam Ibn Kathir
Ibn Kathir cites the words of Mutraf ibn Abdullah: “The most sincere well-wishers of the believers are the angels, and their most vicious enemies are the devils.”
Tafsir al-Baghawi
The words of Allah, the Exalted: “...those who bear the Throne (of Allah) and those around it...” They bear the Throne and surround it. These angels are called the cherubim, and they are the leaders among the angels. The words of Allah, the Exalted:
“...glorify their Lord with praise and believe fully in Him...” affirming that He is One and has no partner.
“...and ask (Allah) to forgive those who believe: ‘Our Lord...’” that is, they say: “O our Lord!”
“... You encompass all things with Your mercy and knowledge!...” One opinion is that these two words are in the accusative because they serve as an explanation. Another opinion is that they convey the meaning that Your mercy and knowledge encompass all things.
“...so forgive those who have repented and followed Your path...” the faith You have ordained.
“...and protect them from the punishment of Hell!...” Mutarrif said: “The creatures of Allah most well-disposed toward the believers are the angels, and the most deceitful are the devils.”
“...Our Lord! And admit them into the Gardens of ‘Adn (Eden) which You promised them, and those among them who were righteous...” who believed,
“...among their fathers, their spouses, and their offspring. Indeed, You are the Almighty, the Wise!...” Sa‘id ibn Jubayr said: “A believer will enter Paradise and say, ‘Where is my father? Where is my mother? Where is my son?
Where is my wife?’ They will say to him, ‘They did not perform deeds like yours.’ Then he will say, ‘Indeed, I performed deeds for myself and for them.’ Then it will be said, ‘Admit them as well.’” (Reported by al-Tabari.)
“...And protect them from evil deeds...” that is, from retribution for evil deeds.
“...(for) whoever You (O Allah) protect from evil deeds...” that is, whoever You protect from evil deeds—that is, from retribution for evil deeds. Another opinion is: from retribution for evil deeds. “...on that Day, You have indeed shown mercy to him. And that is the great success!...”
In “Sahih Muslim” (No. 2732) it is narrated: “The supplication of a Muslim for his brother in his absence is answered, and at his head there is an angel who says: “Amen! And the same to you!””
